KICA Awards 2020

We are pleased to announce that the 5th Annual Care Awards are here and the nomination lines are now open!
As a company we would like to show our appreciation to our staff across the board by offering the opportunity to be nominated at this years KiCA Awards.

Please have a think about any potential candidates you may have at your branch and would like to nominate. The relevant categories to choose for are as follows:
  • Community homecare champion - Candidates should be frontline community / homecare staff who deliver outstanding support and care to people living in their own homes. The judges will be looking for candidates who can demonstrate how they enhance the lives of people by delivering person centred care.
  • Community care registered manager - Candidates will be Community Homecare Managers registered with CQC. The judges will be looking for Registered Managers who are able to demonstrate their exceptional ability to deliver a well led person centred service.
  • Dementia champion - The judges will be looking for a candidate that is able to demonstrate how they enhance the lives of people living with dementia through their role within their organisation. The candidate will be aware of the national and local dementia initiatives and how they work creatively to ensure people’s choices and dignity are in the forefront of the support they deliver.
  • Workforce development - The Judges will be looking for candidates who are able to demonstrate how they support and develop staff within their organisation. Good examples of staff engagement and support and creative retention initiatives.
  • Innovation - This category will be awarded to an individual, team or organisation that can demonstrate an innovative product, process or service they have developed and implemented during the course of the last year. The judges will be looking for an innovation or initiative that has a positive impact and enhanced the health and social care experience for individuals or services within health and social care in Kent. Each candidate will be judged using the following criteria points: Creative concept, added Value to the sector, delivery method and impact.
  • Putting people first - Candidates will be required to demonstrate how they put people first within their service area. Judges will be looking for exceptional examples of the ‘putting people first’ ethos in delivery of care and support.
  • Care nutrition - Candidates will be staff responsible within their service for the preperation and delivery of food and hydration needs. Judges will be looking for candiates able to demonstrate their creativity and quality within this category.
  • Care team - Candidates for this award should be a team of two or more support or care staff who are able to demonstrate how as a team they enhance the lives of those they support.
  • Ancillary - back office - Candidates will be office or administrative staff who work within a care sector setting. Judges will be looking for candidates who show exceptional quality working within the support functions of frontline care delivery.
  • Outstanding contribution to social care - Candidates nominated for this award will not be judged and nominators are asked to submit a 500 word supporting statement of their candidate. Entries cannot be considered without a detailed supporting statement for this prestigious award of recognition. All candidate nominations will be judged by a panel of experts in the Kent Health and Social care Sector Candidates nominated for this award should demonstrate not only their commitment to the development of their own services but how they have supported and enhanced the health and social care sector as a whole in Kent.
  • Care newcomer - The judges will be looking for a candidate who ideally commenced and remained in employment in the care sector within the previous 12 months.
  • Frontline leader - The judges will be looking for an individual who can demonstrate the significance of maximising client independance and choice, whilst respecting and maintaining privacy and dignity at all times.
  • Pallative care - The judges will be looking for a candidate who demonstrates how special and professional they have to be to be able to support someone who is at the end of their life.
