Beechtree adopted the ‘Totalcare’ name to illustrate the company ethos of supporting not only the individual but all those who come into contact with the organisation. That includes staff, family and friends of the care user and those in the wider community with an interest in social care.

One size does not fit all when it comes to a person’s individual care needs. We offer a range of services from performing regular Domestic chores, through assistance with Personal Care, to Enhanced Care packages for the most complex needs. Each client is assessed by a member of the Beechtree team, and a support plan devised from these services tailored specifically to deliver the support that the individual requires.
Care co-ordinators regularly review clients’ circumstances to ensure the care being delivered fully meets their needs and helps them to stay in their own homes for as long as they wish.
Beechtree Totalcare Services
Domestic Care
Many people take the upkeep of the home for granted until it becomes a struggle to maintain standards. Regular assistance with activities such as cleaning and shopping can be a huge relief and a real aid to maintaining independence. Services include:
- Domestic support - including help with cleaning, washing up, laundry
- Errands - shopping, paying bills, collecting pensions and benefits.
- Gardening/Home Maintenance - Beechtree can supply telephone numbers of tradesmen who have been checked by Trading Standards.
Personal Care
Being able to rely on a trusted carer to help with personal hygiene and regular care gives freedom and dignity to elderly or physically disabled people wishing to live independently. Requirements may be for long-term care or short-term, for example when recovering from a fall or operation. Services include:
- Personal care - including help with getting up, going to bed, using the toilet, continence maintenance, personal hygiene, dressing, preparing and eating a meal, supervising medication
- Rehabilitation - helping clients regain the ability to undertake their own domestic and personal care tasks following an illness or injury
- Transport - driving clients to hospital appointments, shops, church or social functions.
- Companion/social - includes helping with particular tasks, eg. letter writing or making phone calls, accompanying on social, leisure, educational, religious or cultural activities
- Live-in help - for a few days’ help in an emergency.
- Sitting services - allowing family carers to take a short break.
- Night care - both sleeping or waking night care.
Enhanced Care
Clients with the most complex needs are often the most vulnerable and by necessity are highly reliant on their carers. The additional services and choices we offer here can be particularly valuable when family members are far away and cannot visit as often as they would like. Service is as Personal Care plus:
- Enhanced care* - includes more intense health-related tasks, such as assistance with catheter care, stoma care, specialised feeding, and skin integrity
- Carer choice – the opportunity to meet with several carers to select the one most suited to deliver the personal service and caring relationship required by the individual
- Key contact – a named contact from the senior care team to liaise with the family regarding the individual’s care
- Written updates – regular reports on the wellbeing of the individual back to the family
* This service is provided by a home carer who is trained to an enhanced level as necessary with the support and guidance of a doctor or community nurse.
